If y'all follow me on Insta or Snapchat, you know that last week I went to LA with my hubs & friends for a video game conference. While I'm not a gamer (surprise, surprise) the wives of the guys tagged along for fun (naturally shopping may or may not have been on the agenda, haha)! Tonight I wanted to share about my absolute favorite part of the trip, which was eating at one of the restaurants that was on my "bucket list": SUR, in West Hollywood!!!
While I'm sure most of you know about SUR, I thought I would just do a little recap for those who don't know what it is! So one of my favorite "Real Housewives" of Beverly Hills, Lisa Vanderpump, owns the restaurant SUR. She is a super savvy business woman and has her own spinoff show called "Vanderpump Rules" which is about SUR and all the staff that work there! It is such a "guilty pleasure" show and just too much fun to watch! So....I knew that when we were planning our LA trip, we would have to make a stop there. And lucky me, my sweet precious hubby made us reservations for dinner last Thursday night! So I wanted to share with y'all some "tips" that made our experience fun & memorable! I was searching for a blog post like this before we went to SUR but couldn't find one, so hopefully this will help to make the most of your visit at SUR! 😊 {p.s. I wanted to mention that the above pictures were made only with my cell phone, so I apologize for the lesser quality, but I still wanted to share!}
1) Make later reservations. The restaurant opens at 5:30 pm & hubby made us dinner reservations at 8:30 PM. It was the perfect time because, let's face it, on the West Coast most eat dinner a little later than we do in the South. So by 8:30 it was not very crowded, yet. By 9 PM, the place was hopping....and the stars of the show started to arrive!!
2) Order the goat cheese balls as an appetizer; filet mignon or duck for dinner: If you watch the show, you know all about the goat cheese balls as they are talked about often! If you're a fan of the show (and even if you're not) you should try them. Yes, it only includes 3 and they are relatively small, but just know that when ordering that it's an appetizer for 2...but when in L.A., right!? 😏 As far as entrees go, hubs got duck....he said it was amazing! I'm more of a chicken or steak kind of girl haha...so I went with the filet! It was delicious! Everyone was really happy with their food so no matter what you order you will probably like it!
3) Don't be afraid to introduce yourself & make pictures with the cast: Seriously, everyone is so nice and willing to make pictures with you! Don't be afraid to be a "fan girl." Maybe it's just me, but I've always loved meeting the stars (yes I am the girl who waited HOURS to meet Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift at the CMA Music Fest in high school) so you can say this has always been one of my favorite "hobbies." No shame though, live it up and ask them for a picture! They are happy to oblige, and I was able to make a picture with Jax, James & Scheana. It was seriously too much fun!!!
4) Explore the restaurant, ask lots of questions and make friends! Chances are you will be surrounded by other fans of the show as you walk around the restaurant. I know a lot of places it may be considered "rude" to walk around during dinner. However, this is a place where it's totally acceptable. Hubs went with me and I asked the hostess (it was not Lala though lol) if there were stars of the show there. She said, "Yes! Feel free to walk around and meet them!" Props to Lisa Vanderpump, boss of the restaurant, for making it so "fan friendly." It was so much fun talking to other fans of the show and seeing who all was there! Also, they just so happened to be filming while we were there. Talk about the ideal "Hollywood" experience!
5) Request to Sit Outside: The atmosphere in the whole restaurant is absolutely glam, but the outside is more romantic & SO lovely. It is beautifully lit in purples and pinks, with strings of lights hanging overhead from the branches of cascading trees. The tables are gorgeously lit with soft candlelight and flowers that look as if they came straight out of Lisa Vanderpump's beautifully decorated house!
So, as you can see, if you eat at SUR, you will have so many good SURprises!!!! Everywhere you look, you will have the surprises of filming, friendly stars, amazing service & gorgeous decor! I highly recommend you make reservations to dine at SUR while in LA (only about a 30 min drive from LA to West Hollywood). It will highly be worth your time and it's an absolute blast!

Recap of My Styling Event with Fab'rik

My "Vacay Chic" Picks!!
Happy Monday fabulous readers!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Today I wanted to do a recap of the event I hosted this past Saturday with fab'rik called "Vacay Chic with Ashley." It was an absolute blast!!! I was able to go around the store before the event started (and snap some of the pictures you see above) to choose my picks for what to wear when vacationing and displayed them for the event on my "vacay chic" clothing rack! This event came at the exact perfect time because so many people (including myself) are about to go on trips this summer. I had a blast styling everyone in some cute vacay #ootds and #ootns. Fab'rik has THE cutest collection of clothes that are seriously perfect for those vacations you're planning. My top 5, can't leave home without, must-have items that should be on your packing list include....
1) Rompers! Girls, I just can't get enough of a cute romper. The one I'm wearing above is my new summer fave. I love the coral color, and the lace is SO cute. I love that a good romper can take you from day to night, just by making minor adjustments to your outfit. Change your shoes (sandals or wedges during the day, heels for the night) and even your accessories (oversized tote during the day, clutch for the evening) to switch up the look. You can find the exact romper I'm wearing above HERE. I also picked up THIS romper for my upcoming trip!
2) Flowy dresses: I am absolutely obsessed with wearing dresses during this time of year, and vacationing is no different. There's nothing easier than throwing on a cute dress after you get cleaned up from a day at the beach! And, dresses are also light weight but cute enough to wear when sight-seeing on vacay. Throw on a cute sunhat with your dress for a chic daytime look. Of course you can see my new fave dress in my last post HERE.
3) Cute cover-ups: (that could double as a tunic): A cute cover-up is a must-have for any beach trip, or if there is a pool involved where you're vacationing! I like a cover-up with a bold print that serves as a statement piece to your beach day attire, but I also like the fact that some cover-ups could double as a tunic if you wore a tank top underneath, and paired it with shorts! Versatility is what I look for when packing for vacation. This cover- up HERE would be perfect to style as a tunic for an #ootd when you're away from the water!
4) Statement Wedges: You cannot go wrong investing in a couple of statement wedges this summer. I am currently obsessing over nude wedges because they really elongate your legs, and literally can be paired with ANY color. THESE will be my new go-to's this summer!
5) Bold Print Shorts: I am a firm believer in definitely having the "basic" colors of shorts in your closet (i.e., denim, black, white)....however, I also highly recommend in investing in a couple of pairs of fun print shorts! On first glance, it may look like multi-colored shorts may not go with anything, when in fact they go with SO MUCH. The key is to just match your shirt to one of the colors in the shorts. I can't wait to wear THESE on my upcoming trip. I also picked up these shorts HERE, which totally qualify as a bold print, BUT they have the added bonus of being in the black & nude color family so they will match pretty much any color you choose to wear with them! My personal fave is white with these shorts though ;). Can't wait to show y'all some OOTDs soon styling these!

The Perfect Vacay Chic Dress

Oh my gosh y'all, I am SO excited to share with you this look today, for 2 reasons!!! 1) This dress is seriously what summer dreams are made of! Does it not make you just want to jet off on vacay to the tropics!? and....2) This dress is part of the new "Vacay Chic" collection by THE cutest clothing line, fab'rik (pronounced "fabric")! I am so honored to have been invited to host an event this Saturday, June 10th, from 2-4 PM, at the Chattanooga fab'rik location (HERE). At the event, I will be styling shoppers in the cutest vacation-ready outfits and also showing my top fab'rik vacay chic picks! Not to mention, I will be drawing a winner for a GIVEAWAY! If you are local, I would absolutely LOVE for you to stop by!!!
So back to this GORGEOUS dress! Yesterday the fabulous ladies at fab'rik invited me to the store to preview and start styling some looks from the new Vacay Chic collection, and let me tell y'all, there are some of THE cutest pieces I've ever seen! Bright colors, bold prints, and so many statement pieces; I was in fashion heaven. I will be posting more pictures on my Insta account (here) of all the outfits I styled, so be sure to follow along to see those! The girls at the store were SO sweet and it was a serious blast to style different outfits. This dress was the first I tried on, and it is hands-down one of my favorites from the collection! It is light-weight so it will be absolutely perfect for those warm summer temps. I love the flowing, asymmetrical hemline. Not to mention the BOLD, beautiful blue print screams "take me on vacation" (hint hint wear this around anyone who you want to invite you on a trip, haha)! It would be PERFECT for a nice dinner out on the beach...in fact, I wish I would've had it to wear on my honeymoon, haha! The wedges I'm wearing are also part of the "Vacay Chic" collection and talk about OBSESSION! Some wedges can be a torture to wear, but not this pair! They were SO comfy! In fact, I wore them all around the store while I was styling outfits and my feet didn't hurt one bit. Every girl needs a pair of nude wedges in their wardrobe; they seriously go with EVERYTHING. Not to mention the nude color also elongates your legs, which short girls like me can appreciate 😉 lol.
