Sneakers: Converse (here, only $50!)

Happy Halloween, gorgeous readers!!! I hope y'all had an amazing weekend! So I know I have said before that blanket scarves are part of my fall uniform. Well, I'm here to tell you that oversized sweaters are right up there with blanket scarves on my fall obsession list. Oversized sweaters have it ALL: comfy, cozy, & CUTE (the 3 c's if you will, lol). Sometimes with fashion, I feel like you have to pick between comfort and style (i.e. 6 inch heels aren't the most comfortable); however, this is totally not the case with oversized sweaters which is one of the reasons I love them! Also as the temps drop, these are super cozy & warm--yet another practical reason to love oversized sweater. So why not get the best of both worlds & even pair an oversized sweater with a blanket scarf when the temps drop more?! Plus, these are long enough that you can wear them with tights...another major positive in my book (of fashion lol).

Also some of my new favorite shoes are these Converse sneakers I just bought from DSW. This white/blue/red combo has been EVERYWHERE this past summer & fall. I'll be honest, I have never bought a pair of Converses before, but as soon as I tried these on, I had to have them (along with another adorable pair, which I will feature soon!). My 2 older brothers always wore Converses while I was growing up and I always thought they were pretty dang cool, so I feel like my cool factor goes up a couple of notches in these shoes ;) And, needless to say, they go with literally EVERYTHING. I love to make a dress more casual by adding some sneakers or "showing them off" if you will by rolling up my jeans as I did in my OOTD above. So many ways to style them! And, bonus, my version above is the "slip on" style so you don't have to worry about tying your shoes (lol...yes I have been known to trip over my untied shoes before. This totally eliminates the problem! Is that embarassing I admitted that??? Anyone else?? haha.....).

So what do y'all think of the oversized sweater trend?!

Also, what are y'all doing for Halloween? I'm currently in Nashville for school, so I wasn't able to spend it with my fiancé, Dad & precious nephews like normal. It made me reminisce on Halloween pasts, so I thought I would share some of my fave looks from Halloween over the years!:

Top Left: Little Red Riding Hood & her handsome Huntsman
Bottom Left: Audrey Hepburn a la Breakfast @ Tiffany's!
Top right: Minnie Mouse & Captain America (my sweet little nephew)
Bottom left: Princess & Batman with Iron Man (my precious nephews again!)
Finally, center picture: Me as a little girl (Cinderella) with my first Prince Charming, my Daddy!

Thank you so so much for reading dolls, as always I appreciate you all taking the time to read!! :)

Happy Halloween and have a great evening!

Fall Weekend Roadtrips!

October 25, 2016

Hi dolls!

I hope y'all are having a fabulous week so far! Tonight I wanted to change it up on the blog a little & share some pictures (and of course OOTD's) from our trip to Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg this past weekend. The Smokey's are only about 2.5 hours away from Chattanooga, so it's a quick (not to mention gorgeous when you get up in the mountains) drive for us. We had booked this trip in July and I remember thinking it seemed so far away when we first booked it....then all of a sudden it was time to leave (which I'm pretty sure that's how our whole lives together will be. My man proves to me that time really does fly when you're having fun!).

So when we left Friday the forecast was calling for rain, but as a devout lover of Hunter rain boots, sometimes the rain can be a good thing since it meant I was able to break out my Hunter boots for the first time this season! (YAY!). I paired these boots with one of my new (and favorite) sweaters from BP (sold at Nordstrom). I know I will feature this sweater again soon on the blog so be on the lookout ;)

Sweater: BP (here)
Jeans: TopShop (here)
Boots: Hunter (here)
Red lips: Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Fraise (here) + Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss in color 403-Red (here).

Well it was sunny on our drive up, but it DID rain when we got there, so I was happy to have the Hunter boots on!

For dinner that night, we decided to eat at Cherokee Grill. It is DELICIOUS. We both got steaks & I can't tell you the last time I had a steak but it was AMAZING (so much for our wedding diets lol; we kind of threw them out the window this weekend but that's what weekends & roadtrips are for right?!). It was definitely worth every calorie! Also snapped a quick selfie in the mirror before we left for dinner; it was about 10 degrees cooler up in the mountains than in Chattanooga so I added THESE Hunter boot socks & a blanket scarf to warm up my look (yes I am obsessed with blanket scarves: guilty as charged).

Saturday we went to DOLLYWOOD! Just a little backstory, I absolutely LOVE Dolly Parton. She said one of my all-time favorite quotes "I'm not offended by all the dumb blonde jokes because I know I'm not dumb...and I also know that I'm not blonde." I seriously loved this quote so much I put it in my yearbook as one of my quotes to describe myself as a senior in high school (people used to like to joke with me about having "blonde" moments but the REAL joke is that, like Dolly, I'm not a natural blonde!).

Anyway....back to our Dollywood trip! My look for Dollywood was all about 1) comfort and 2) layering. The weather was in the 40's that morning when we headed to the park, but then by the afternoon it was in the low 60's. Those 20 degree temperature differences are when layers are PERFECT. So, I started out with one of my favorite t-shirts from Old Navy, added a flannel button-up shirt + blanket scarf (one of my $7 Target ones!), then added my fleece jacket on top. Casual yet fashionable, perfect for riding all those rollercoasters (and Dumbo....lol). I also wore my brand new tennis shoes (first time I had worn them & they proved to be SO comfortable for the 10 miles we walked that day! They are lightweight which is really important in a tennis shoe so your feet don't get too tired). Just a side note...I am the biggest chicken when it comes to rollercoasters...however, my fiance managed to get me on 2 and truth be told, they were a blast!! Next time, we will step it up & add a few more thrilling rides haha! Now for some pictures from our day....

Red lips are one of my favorite accessories ;) See the links above for more info on this color.

As I was taking a picture of this sign, a kind man asked if he could take our picture together for me. Of course I didn't turn that chance down & I love the way it turned out. Thanks sweet random stranger! :)

He's my best friend!

These barn doors were SO CUTE.

Me: "Take my picture here so I can post it on my blog!"

This pretty much sums up our level of thrill :)

As I was saying about our level of thrill....lol.

I LOVE these shoes! So comfy. See the link below where you can get them. Also my fiance is such a sport...."let's take a picture of our shoes!" & he goes along with it ;)

Photo-op with the sunflowers ;)

A pumpkin tree. How stinkin cute!

THIS SHIRT THOUGH. ::insert heart-eye emojis::

All their fall decor was so beautiful!

We rode the train around after we got tired of walking so much! It was nice & relaxing, also a great way to see more of the park (and a view of some of the roller coasters that you don't see from just walking around!).

Jeans: Old Navy (here: currently on sale for only $19!)
T-shirt: Old Navy (here, on sale for $9!)
Flannel: Old Navy (here, Old Navy is my favorite for flannels!)
Tennis shoes: New Balance (here)
Scarf: Target ($7! Not online. A lot of y'all have been asking about where to find these scarves at Target, they are in the Dollar Spot section right when you walk in the front door.)

Before heading out of town on Sunday, we stopped to eat breakfast at one of my favorites, the Pancake Pantry. My mom & I often eat there in Nashville when I go up for classes, but I have never eaten at the one in Gatlinburg. FYI: same thing! I LOVE their syrup and regular buttermilk pancakes. However, rumor has it their sweet potato pancakes are also amazing. We got there about 9:30 and only had to wait in line about 20 minutes. I've definitely seen the line WAY longer, so we hit it just about right. Also, a tip if you go, this one in Gatlinburg only accepts cash (Nashville's takes cards)!

(sorry, I know this is a picture of a picture from my computer but it wouldn't save to let me post it any other way---I'm super tech savvy as you can tell. Anyway, this was such a burning question I had to post it anyway ;)).

HAHA! Have a great evening dolls & thanks for reading!

Moto Jacket, Leopard & OTK Boots!

October 20, 2016

{Outfit Details}
Moto Jacket: BP. (here) and ON SALE for 40% off!!
Clutch: Purple Peridot (here)
Boots: Target (no longer online, similar here)
Dress: F21 (not online, love these options here, here, here)
Lips: Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Fraise (here) + Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss in color 403-Red (here). These colors are OBSESSION!

Hi dolls!

Can I get a "woohoo" that it's almost Friday!? Today I'm sharing with you another one of my favorite fall looks. A few weeks ago when I was in Nashville for school, I went shopping at Nordstrom & their BP. collection is seriously OBSESSION. I saw this moto jacket and I HAD to have it. Moto jackets are totally on trend this season and are SO versatile. Pair it with a dress to make it more casual or jeans to add some edge to your outfit. The BP. one I'm wearing above has the cutest zipper & gold button detail (I always have & always will love black & gold together!). Not to mention it's also light-weight so it's been perfect for this awkward "transitioning" period we've had in TN (translation: the cool mornings and then the temps rising into the 80's by the afternoon). Oh, and at the time I'm writing this post, it is currently 40% off!!! Such a steal!! (Nordstrom offers free shipping as well...get on this deal ladies! ;)).

So, let's talk about this leopard print fold-over clutch. In my book, leopard print IS a neutral! Don't be afraid to mix leopard with other patterns (as I mixed it with plaid in this post and I also love the way leopard looks with classic black & white stripes). The key is to make sure you have some of the same colors in the prints your mixing to pull the look together (i.e.: tan or black in the other pattern so it ties in with the leopard print). I also love that leopard can add an instant pop to a monochromatic look just as it does with my all black OOTD above. I have been crushing on THIS Clare V. foldover clutch forever and while I love the original one, when I saw this dupe by Purple Peridot go on sale for $20 online last week, I had to order (currently it's $30)! If you haven't heard of Purple Peridot, it's one of my fave online boutiques that offers adorable jewelry/accessories for a very reasonable price (and only 99 cent shipping). Check them out now, you will definitely find something you love!

Finally, these OTK boots are some of my favorites. I bought them last year & I love how the zipper on the back adds a unique touch (not to mention the zipper ties in with my moto jacket & also the zipper on the clutch!). I love when one unique detail can pull together the whole look!

I'm also super excited to announce that tonight at 8:30 EST, I will be participating in an Instagram giveaway with a few fabulous bloggers!!! Be sure to head over to my Instagram page to enter tonight!!! Thanks so much for reading dolls, have a stylish day!

The ($7!) Blanket Scarf!

October 18, 2016

{Outfit Details}
Scarf: Target (not online-bummer! But love this, this, and this)
Denim: Articles of Society (here)
Sweater: H&M (not online, similar here & here)
Heels: Old Navy (last year, but love this year's style here)
Handbag: LV (here)

Happy Tuesday dolls!!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! I spent mine working (that RN life ya know ;)), but Friday night my man took me out to dinner at our fave Italian restaurant in town, Tony's! (seriously, if you ever visit Chattanooga you should check it out. It is in the Bluff View Art District which has the CUTEST little restaurants/coffee shops & offers a gorgeous view of the TN river and downtown Chatt---ok, shameless promotion of my city is over ;) lol). Before we went out to dinner Friday, I did some grocery shopping @ Target, and just so happened to find THE CUTEST BLANKET SCARF EVER, for only $7!!! I have tried to find it on their website but to no avail; I'm thinking because it was in with the Target Dollar Spot section (which is not online). Nonetheless, I picked up the scarf I'm wearing in the pictures above & another gray/black one---2 blanket scarves for $14. What a steal! AND, besides being super cute, they are also SUPER soft...like I'm talking, they feel like they cost a lot more than only $7! So next time you go to get "groceries" at Target, check out the Dollar Spot Section to see if these scarves are in stock!

Also, can we talk about these jeans?! I had been on the hunt for some black ripped denim, and fell in LOVE with these when I tried them on in Nordstrom. They are super comfortable and not to mention super cute. I have an obsession with ripped denim (I promise you this won't be the only time you see me wearing it on the blog). I love how unexpected it is...it just adds a sort of edginess to any outfit (& let's face it, anyone who knows me knows I'm anything BUT edgy, so anytime I can add a bit of "edginess" to my look, I'm all in!). And I loved the way they went with my leopard heels. Leopard is a neutral in my book, so I thought the shoes tied in perfectly with the scarf! ;)

Thanks so much for reading dolls. I appreciate each & every one of you!
