The Luck of the Irish: St. Patty's Day Outfit Ideas!
March 16, 2013
Hello dolls!
So as you may know, St. Patty's Day is tomorrow! Of course it's imperative to wear green if you want to avoid the dreaded pinch! I always said that my eyes were green so that automatically is a free pass for me being exempt from getting pinched, but some people tend to disagree with that logic, haha!
One of my favorite ways to incorporate green into your outfit is through accessories. I have seen SO many green bubble necklaces and big statement necklaces in stores lately, so that may be the perfect way to add a pop of green to your ensemble!!! I also really love the color combination of green with black and/or white. I don't know about you, but that gold pair of Louboutins featured below is the kind of pot of gold I would LOVE to see at the end of my rainbow!! ;)
Hope this gives you some ideas of how to style your outfit on St. Patty's Day!!! :) Be sure to leave me a comment and tell me what you plan to wear!
Have a fabulous weekend dolls!

Pattern Play: Stripes + Polka Dots
March 15, 2013
Hello dears!
I have always loved the idea of mixing patterns! It may seem a bit intimidating or tricky to pull off the look, but the key is to pick patterns that are in the same color family. When I was putting together this outfit, I thought a scarf would add a little something extra to my grey polka dotted jeans, and luckily I remembered I had this silver and black striped one from F21. Since I went with a grey and black color scheme, it made it easy to wear BOTH polka dots and stripes!!! Those are my 2 favorite patterns after all, so why not wear them in 1 ensemble?!
Here's how my "pattern play" turned out... :)
What ideas do you have for mixing patterns?! Be sure to leave me a comment and let me know! Thanks so much dolls! Have an fabulous Friday!!!

Shopping in My Closet
March 14, 2013
Hello lovely readers!
Honestly, sometimes there's no place I like to shop more than my very own closet!! I've gotten a lot better about it, but I have been known to buy something that's SUPER CUTE in the stores, but upon bringing it home I realize I don't have the right shoes to go with it, the right accessories, the seasons change, or various other excuses...which leads to items hanging in my closet that still have the tags on them.
This makes me feel bad UNTIL the awesome day arrives when I am looking for an outfit and just when I start to give up hope finding something I want to wear, I shuffle through my clothes to find that little dress that I never wore, brand new with tags. I then realize that I NOW have the perfect shoes and accessories to wear with it! It's like fashion serendipity, I'm telling you! Before I know it, I have a whole "new" outfit to wear....and that's what I like to call "shopping in my closet." The cheapest kind of shopping there is!! :)
A few weeks ago this whole scenario played out with this little dress I bought from forever ago at Macy's, hanging in my closet with the tags still on it. It's a short-sleeve sweater dress that came with a super cute dark brown belt. Problem? I never had the right color of brown boots to wear with it. I had light brown boots, but not the dark brown shade of boots that this dress calls for. Fast forward to present day.....I now have dark brown Frye riding boots that are the beyond perfect shade of brown to wear with the dress! I was SO excited to finally put together a look with this dress (including a dark brown leather jacket!). Here's how shopping in my closet turned out....
So do y'all like to shop in YOUR closet?! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Saying Goodbye to Winter Part 2: ANOTHER Fur Coat :)
March 13, 2013
Ok, ok, ok dolls! So I know I wrote a "Saying Goodbye to Winter" post a couple of weeks ago (HERE), but I have a confession: it's still been pretty chilly here the past couple of weeks and saying my goodbyes with winter have been pretty long....and slow....and slightly painful...haha. Y'all might have noticed, I've been on a blogging spree this week because I've been on Spring Break. I know spring clothes are right around the corner and I promise those posts will come, but right now I wanted to document and blog some last OOTD & OOTNs I've worn over the past few weeks that I want to show y'all!!! They are more winter styles but better now than never right?!
So before Christmas I saw this fabulous fur coat at F21 that was around $50. It may be a bit over-the-top for some people's taste, but there's just something about it I LOVED....and if you haven't noticed, I am obsessed with faux fur. Just last week I was in Forever 21 and found my Christmas-present-that-never-was on the sale rack. Isn't it funny how that makes it even more desirable when it's 50% off? haha! It was literally only $25. So not only is it the coat I wanted way back in December, it's also half-off?! Too good to pass up!!! This time last week it was still in the 30's, so I bought it and was excited to wear it this past weekend!!!
On Friday night, I wanted to "dress it down" and I styled it with a denim skirt, belt, sheer top and ankle boots!
I know it's a bit wild, but I just love it. What do y'all think??! Be sure to check out how one of my favorite bloggers, Cara Loren styled it HERE.
Thanks SO much for reading dolls!!!

Leather & Lace
March 12, 2013
Hello dolls!!!
I just LOVE the combination of "tough girl" leather with something girly and delicate like lace. I've worn both these items on the blog before (see another way I styled my lace top HERE, and my leather pants w/ faux fur HERE) but decided to wear them together this weekend!!! There's just something so unexpected about this combination. I also always love an all-black ensemble....I'm definitely a color kind of girl, but some times all black suits my mood (don't worry, I'm not trying to be gothic or anything haha!). Oh and I also might have planned my OOTN around my new Prabal Gurung for Target earrings (remember that post HERE?) that I bought recently!!! They were only $17 and uber-cute! Anyway, here's how the OOTN turned out.....(and of course I had to wear my black stilettos for good measure) :)
Also thought I would include a couple of pictures with my sweetie.... :) Love that guy!!!

Leopard Print + Bright Yellow
March 11, 2013
Hello dolls!
I just love the idea of mixing leopard print with a bold solid color. You've seen me wear it with red before, but this exact same scarf I thought would be fun with a yellow sweater. To incorporate all the shades in the scarf I paired it with shades of khakis and browns. It didn't hurt that a bright blue sky served as a backdrop!!! I'm so excited about spring! :)

A Little Red Dress
March 6, 2013
Wow I can't believe it is already March, ladies and gents! This year is sure flyin' by and I'm staying really busy with nursing school. Tonight I wanted to do a quick post showing one of my favorite dresses I got for Christmas from my trusty standby Forever 21. I know that the "little black dress (LBD)" is the staple every girl should own, but I also tend to think that a red dress in your closet can go very far!!! There are so many ways you can wear this dress! I've layered them with sweaters and shirts for a "skirt" look and have worn them with heels and boots. So tonight I wanted to show you 2 ways I've worn this dress. Also, the pic quality isn't the best...these are mostly just iPhone photos but better than nothing right?!
The first was for a fashion show I attended for Marc Nelson Denim (the amazing company I blog for). I wanted an edgier look so I wore my leopard print heels paired with black knee high socks and belted my dress. I really love the socks with heels look that's been around this past winter. I know it's not for everyone but I thought it added a touch of fun and not to mention a little bit of warmth to my ensemble for the evening :). Here's how my first look turned out....nothing like some full-length mirror pics! :)
A few weeks later I knew this dress would be perfect for Valentine's Day!!! My sweet bf and I went to a nice Italian restaurant in town so I wanted to go for a glam look. I still went with my leopard print heels minus the socks and decided to add my Juicy Couture leopard print faux fur coat!!! I seriously love this coat (faux fur, of course I love it!) and love taking every opportunity I can to wear it.
Thanks so much for reading dolls!!! Hope you're having a great week!
